IELTS and PTE Academic are both widely accepted by universities in the UK, Australia, Canada and increasingly the United States, but they differ in format, timing and how quickly results are issued.
PTE is fully computer-based and typically returns results within 48 hours, which suits students on a tight application timeline. IELTS offers both paper and computer formats and is still preferred by certain visa categories.
The right choice depends on your target universities, your comfort with typing versus handwriting, and how soon you need your result. We help you choose the right test during your free consultation.
